Vodice's history dates back to Roman times when the settlement was founded under the name “Arausa.” Later, its water sources supplied the surrounding areas, and it was first mentioned as Vodice in 1402, deriving from the word voda meaning water. Ten years later, it came under Venetian reign and administration.

The Coric Tower and the defensive walls remain as vestiges of those times. In the historic old town, the parish church, built in 1764, is worth seeing. Before Vodice became a popular holiday resort, it was a small fishing village with traditional stone houses that can still be found in the narrow, cobbled alleys. Many cafes, konobas, and souvenir shops invite visitors to stroll through the busy lanes.

For those looking to escape the lively town, relaxation and recreation can be found in the nearby surroundings.
