Real Estate Kvarner Bay - from the vibrant Riviera of Opatija to the calm Karlobag surroundings

Real Estate Kvarner Bay: Villas, Houses, Apartments and Building Plots for Sale. The Kvarner Gulf, also called Kvarner Bay, is squeezed between the Istrian peninsula in the north and Dalmatia in the south and includes the islands Cres, Losinij, Krk, and parts of Pag. Real estate prices in the northern regions of Opatija, Cres and Losinij have risen notably, whereas they are remarkably lower in the southern areas although the impressively nice scenery in the south speaks in favour of buying a property there.

The Kvarner Gulf is one of the most popular destinations in Croatia and has a growing reputation for real estate in this prosperous region offering a unique coastline with gorgeous sandy or gravel beaches, buzzing cities and picturesque fishing villages with narrow alleys and subtropical gardens, not to forget the stunning panoramic sea views from the coastal hills and mountains. The numerous islands seem to be small bright spots in the darkblue and turquoise sparkling waves of the Adriatic Sea. Tiny coves, reachable only by boat, invite you for a swim or undisturbed sunbathing. In the evenings breathtaking sunsets create a fascinating play of colours in orange, pink, red and purple until the sun disappears as a red fireball in the sea.

Not only the beautiful scenery but also the cultural life in the cities and smaller towns make the Kvarner Gulf an ideal place to buy a property either for using it for yourself or as a solid investment. Rejeka for example is the economic and cultural centre of this region and shows a mediterranian sense of joie de vivre with its lots of attractions, big shopping malls and an appealing urban buzz. One of the highlights is the big Carnival in February with the spectacular parade that attracts thousands of spectators and participants wearing traditional and fancy-dress costumes. Dancing and drinking people celebrate and have fun till sunrise. Opatija , also called the“ Adriatic Nice“ , has been a famous seaside resort since the belle epoque. Pompous and magnificent buildings, hotels and villas remind you of those Austro-Hungarian times when celebrities from all over Europe made this town a specail one. Examples of fin-de siecle architecture can be admired in Marsala Tita, the main street, and along the seaside promenade of Setaliste Franza Josefa. Today Opatija is also famous for its gourmet seafood restaurants.

Worth mentioning are also fishing villages like Moscenika Draga where they offer the delicious freshly caught Kvarner scampi in small and cosy restaurants and not to forget Cricvenica with its long gravel beach and shady promenade surrounded by pines. (See link Cricvenica). If you want to escape buzzling life in towns you will find relaxation or adventure in the national parks of the Velebit Mountains or the natural preserve of Ucka, which shelters golden eagles and brown bears. Yet the most popular natural attraction is the national park Plitvice Lakes with the numerous eye-catching waterfalls and 16 lakes.

The Kvarner Gulf with all its diversity is a great location to buy a villa, house , apartment or building plot. Contact us and we will offer you real estate directly at the seafront or with sea view.
