Krk, the largest island in Croatia, is situated in the northern Adriatic Sea in the Kvarner Bay near Rijeka, whose airport is located on it (Omisalj). With an area of 405.80 square kilometres and a population of 19.383 it is also the most developed island of Croatia. The main settlements are the historic Krk Town and Baska, a scenic fishing village and tourist resort with a spectacular sandy beach. Whereas both of them are more overcrowded places from the end of June till the middle of September there are plenty of quieter settlements to find all over this gorgeous island, notably Vrbnik, the wine-making centre or the smaller Malinska - here you can find a large selection of new properties.
