Mošćenička Draga is located south of Opatija in the Kvarner Bay on the Istrian Peninsula, 524 km from Munich and only about 55km from Rijeka Airport. The holiday destination comprises 14 smaller villages and settlements, such as Mošćenice and the medieval Brseč, at the edge of the Učka Nature Park. The center is the former fishing harbor in Draga Bay. On the slopes of the Učka Mountains are settlements with holiday homes and apartments with sea views.

Other houses and apartments with sea views are a few steps from the fine pebble beaches. The main beaches are Sipar in Mošćenička Draga and Sv. Ivan, with sports and leisure activities.

For those interested in diving, there are several diving centers in and around the area that offer courses for beginners and dives for experienced divers to popular dive spots. Active vacationers can also enjoy kayaking and canoeing, jet skiing, and water polo. Hiking and climbing in the Učka Mountains, cycling, and horseback riding are also popular activities. The village of Mošćenice was originally a Liburnian settlement, built on a hilltop 170 meters high. It has a medieval city wall, narrow streets and the Church of St. Andrew on the main square, remodelled in Baroque style in the 17th century. The Ethnographic Museum shows the history of Istria and the traditional way of life, with an old mill and an olive press. Small restaurants, taverns and konobas serve local specialties.

Local specialties include wild asparagus and Draga scampi. The small medieval coastal town of Brseč, also part of the Mošćenička Draga municipality, is built around an old castle on a 160-meter-high rock and has a view over the Kvarner Bay. It has traditional houses with painted wooden doors, gardens with old vines, narrow alleys and old stone steps.
